I've changed my mind. Requiring car inspection before registration is a good idea. More than once over the past 20 years I've neglected to get the inspection because it slipped my mind. The state sent nasty letters threatening fines. The new way is better. I am sorry for any inconvenience my bad judgment may have caused.
