"Oh No"

It's remarkable the number of times one hears people talk about how scary and awful a particular thing will be in the future (you'll recall "Y2K," among others). Then remember when the government came out with a new version of the passport that embedded our personal information into a radio-frequency-readable chip? And the fear-based-living people talked about how very very scary this was because, with the right device, anyone could help themselves to your personal information, perhaps as you walked past them on the sidewalk.

Meanwhile, the creative people of the world were getting to work. In K-Mart moments ago, I saw a $12 passport-sized billfold that incorporates RFID-blocking technology into its fabric. "Problem" solved.
